The History of Marukyu Koyamaen

Marukyu Koyamaen was founded during the Genroku period when founder Koyama Kyujiro began cultivating and producing tea in the tea-producing village of Uji-Ogura.
Since then, generations have worked to improve the traditions and quality of Uji tea, and four generations later, the company also began selling tea.
Later, in the Meiji era, Motojiro, who took over as the eighth generation owner, expanded sales channels nationwide.
The "quality-first tea making" is carried out consistently from cultivation to production, and has received numerous awards and honors.
It is widely known to many people as "Maruku Koyamaen" for its quality.
